AUBURN, Ala.—Auburn University Alumni Professor and undergraduate program coordinator Oladiran Fasina has been named interim associate dean for research in the College of Agriculture and interim assistant director of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station effective March 16, Dean and Director Paul Patterson has announced.

“Dr. Fasina’s experience and talents as a professor and researcher make him an excellent fit for this role,” Patterson said. “We appreciate his willingness to provide leadership and help us chart the future for research programs in the College of Agriculture.”

Fasina will succeed Arthur Appel, who has served as interim associate dean since January 2014. Appel, a professor of entomology who also served as interim dean and director, will return to his research and teaching roles in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.
